About Me
During my first trip to Hawaii in 1976 I knew immediately that this state was where I ultimately wanted to live. After more trips to Hawaii, by 1992 I was ready to buy. Originally I planned to buy a condo on Kauai, but Hurricane Iniki diverted me to the Big Island where I bought a condo in South Kona. Since that time I have lived in Kohala, Waimea and now on Hawaii’s beautiful gold coast north of Kona.
Raised on a cattle ranch in Nevada, I have always had a love for the outdoors. My first career was in the mining industry, and I have a master’s degree in mining engineering. I have always been a trailblazer, being the first woman in the mining industry to lead publicly traded companies and undertake major projects. My business experience is extensive. I have dealt with a lot of operational and financial issues such as borrowing and lending money for projects and acquisitions, working with legal counsel, and public stock markets. I have served as a director of a number of large companies.
I have received a number of awards over the years for my professional work. I am a past Rotarian and have served on many non-profit boards. In 1999 I built my own home where I live with my husband. My two children graduated from Hawaii Preparatory Academy in Waimea; thus I can advise families that are relocating about the schools on the Big Island. With their sports activities I traveled to almost every high school on the island for competitions. I have held a contractor’s license in another state and I am experienced in looking at homes from a technical perspective including functionality, construction and remodeling possibilities to create value. I have worked with numerous architects, contractors and subcontractors on the Big Island.
My specific areas of service include Kailua Kona, Kohanaiki, Kukio, Hualalai, Waikoloa Beach, Waikoloa Village, Mauna Lani, Mauna Kea, Kohala by the Sea, Kohala Ranch, Waimea, Hawi, Keauhou, and Captain Cook.
